Last week, Jaime and Khaleesi, participated in the 100-mile Endurance Ride at the American Endurance Ride Conference National Championship. Jaime struggled with challenges and obstacles making the ride a true test of endurance. The experience highlighted Khaleesi’s resilience and the importance of teamwork, leading to future plans in endurance riding.

Death and Resurrection
As the event drew near, I realized the larger the investment, the more pressure to produce a favorable outcome builds. What is the point of doing this if it isn’t to ride over the finish line? Most of us know on some level this is not the whole truth. Still, it is a struggle for the goal driven to not only believe there is more to life than a favorable outcome, but to live (and ride) in the peace that larger reality brings.
The Triple Crown
As for the endurance plans… I have come to a good place, and I’m certain there will be new mountains to climb next year, but it’s too far away to get wrapped up in that story yet… there are stories in between that need engagement first. Khaleesi is on a well deserved break for now with her herd.
The weight of a thought.
We were released with a couple other riders, and there were a couple just behind. This seemed set up well to help us motivate out into the long middle loop, and if we could just get past the magnetic thought field of base camp I knew she’d go along fine. Or so I thought… this did not look good at all…
